COA Checklist
Laboratory qualification checklist for supplier COA documents.
- Match the product and SKU. Confirm the product name and catalog SKU on the certificate match what the order and the vial label say.
- Match the lot number. Compare the lot number printed on the vial to the lot field on the certificate. A certificate that cannot be tied to a specific lot is unverified.
- Check the test date and method. Review the analysis date and the analytical method used, typically reversed-phase HPLC for purity.
- Record the purity result. Log the reported purity against the lot in your internal qualification record, not against the product line.
- Archive the document. Store the PDF alongside the receiving paperwork so the batch remains auditable after the vial is consumed.
- Verify the batch independently. Resolve the lot through batch verification to confirm the supplier publishes the same record you were sent.
