How to read a peptide COA

What a COA is

A Certificate of Analysis is a batch document. It ties one lot number to the tests run on that lot — not to the brand, the SKU family, or next month’s inventory.

For VaultLabs peptides the published record, when uploaded, is searchable from COA search and batch verification. Your laboratory still sets acceptance criteria.

Fields to match before the vial enters inventory

Product name and nominal strength on the COA must match the order SKU and the printed vial label.

Lot / batch identifiers must match across the COA, the vial, the packing list, and your receiving log. A mismatch is a stop, not a footnote.

Note the test method (often HPLC for peptides), the test date, and the lab named on the document when it is disclosed.

How to read HPLC purity

The purity percentage is the main peak under that method, on that day, for that lot. It is not a promise that your in-house method will print the same number.

Treat the COA as the supplier’s reference layer. Understanding HPLC covers why methods are not interchangeable.

When nothing is online yet

A missing portal record usually means analytical release or upload is pending. It is not automatic evidence that the material failed.

Institutional buyers who need a PDF before the vial is released should build that lead time into procurement. Request the lot by identifier rather than asking for a generic “quality certificate.”

A receiving checklist

Confirm SKU and strength. Confirm lot. File the PDF. Assign a storage location from the storage guide. Release to inventory only after that list is complete.
