What CJC-1295 is — and which version you have

CJC-1295 derives from growth hormone-releasing hormone. The native hormone is 44 residues, but the first 29 constitute the shortest fragment described in the literature as retaining activity, and that fragment — GRF(1-29) — is the scaffold here. Several residues are substituted to resist the enzymatic cleavage that rapidly clears the native sequence.

The critical purchasing detail is that two different molecules are sold under this name. CJC-1295 with DAC includes a drug affinity complex, a reactive linker that allows the peptide to bind covalently to circulating albumin and dramatically extends its half-life. CJC-1295 without DAC omits that linker and is, in practice, modified GRF(1-29).

These are not interchangeable. They differ in molecular weight, in chromatographic behaviour and in the literature that applies to them. A certificate that says only CJC-1295 without specifying the DAC status is incomplete, and a laboratory should resolve that ambiguity before the material enters an experiment.
